Cobol Developer

We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to join our Production Support team. This role involves providing 24/7 standby support, ensuring the stability and performance of critical systems, and responding quickly to incidents and business requests.

The ideal candidate will apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues, enhance existing processes, and contribute across the full development lifecycle. You will be responsible for delivering well-structured, efficient, and scalable solutions in an enterprise environment.

· Provide production support with participation in a 24/7 standby rotation

· Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues in a timely manner

· Apply critical thinking to problem-solving and incident management

· Handle business requests and implement enhancements efficiently

· Develop, maintain, and optimize COBOL applications

· Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

· Write clean, well-documented, and optimized code

· Tune and enhance existing production processes for improved performance and reliability

· Ensure high availability and scalability of enterprise systems

· Minimum 5 years of experience in COBOL programming

· Minimum 5 years of experience with JCL (Job Control Language)

· At least 3 years of experience with Hogan / Umbrella systems

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

· Experience working in production support environments

· Banking or financial services industry experience strongly preferred

· Experience with credit card and merchant systems

· Familiarity with high-volume, transaction-based systems

· Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities

· Ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 support environment
