Data Centre Technician
Purpose
Support the day-to-day operation of the bank's data centre to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of critical IT infrastructure and banking systems.
Support the day-to-day operation of the bank's data centre to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of critical IT infrastructure and banking systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, rack, configure, and decommission servers, storage, and network equipment.
- Monitor data centre infrastructure, environmental systems, and equipment health.
- Perform hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, and component replacement.
- Manage and maintain copper and fibre cabling.
- Respond to incidents and escalate issues as required.
- Maintain accurate asset inventories and documentation.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and banking regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2-5 years' experience in a data centre or infrastructure support environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL, or CCNA are advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Server, storage, and network hardware support.
- Structured cabling and fibre optics.
- Data centre monitoring tools.
- Windows and Linux environments.
- Incident, change, and asset management.

Working Conditions
- 24/7 shift environment with on-call support.
