Job Description / Responsibilities
The role will involve the following:
• Source, analyse, integrate, and maintain business, financial, and operational data from
multiple banking systems in alignment with data governance and regulatory standards.
• Perform data analysis across integrated data sets, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and
traceability between source systems, downstream applications, and reporting layers.
• Assist business areas in maintaining their services and mappings of data entities (services,
applications, third-party providers, and assets), with a strong focus on data lineage and
impact analysis.
• Support data integration activities, including validation of inbound and outbound data flows
between core banking systems, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment, actively participating in sprint planning,
daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Own the end-to-end embedment of data and service mapping for assigned business areas,
ensuring alignment with business, risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Train business users on how to use data solutions, reports, and dashboards, applying UI/UX
best practices to improve data interpretation and usability.
• Validate data sets, reconciliations, and mapping information with responsible business
area users and product owners.
• Design, enhance, and optimize analytical reports and dashboards, applying UI/UX
principles to improve clarity, insight, and decision-making.
• Perform UAT testing on changes to data integration, mapping logic, and reporting outputs,
collaborating with Scrum teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
• Ensure data captured and integrations performed for assigned business areas are of high
quality, complete, and compliant with internal standards.
• Identify data gaps, integration issues, and inconsistencies, and drive resolution with
technology and business stakeholders.
• Assist with database changes, data remediation activities, and ongoing data quality
improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, data engineers, testers, UX designers,
and business stakeholders) to deliver incremental data-driven value.
Background and Experience Required
Business Analyst – Finance/data integration
• Banking industry experience (minimum 5 years), with exposure to core banking systems,
financial products, or regulatory reporting.
• SQL experience and knowledge (minimum 2 years), including querying, data validation, and
reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with data analysis, data integration, or data warehousing in a banking
environment.
• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Process modelling experience will be advantageous.
• Transfer costing knowledge within a banking environment will be advantageous.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Salesforce platforms will be beneficial.
Must-Have Skills (Mandatory Skills)
• Business analysis and data analysis (minimum 3 years), preferably within financial services.
• Strong ability to analyse complex data sets, identify trends, anomalies, and root causes.
• Critical thinking, design thinking, and problem-solving skills applied to data-driven
challenges.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, data engineers, and
Agile teams.
• Assertive in requesting information from senior stakeholders while maintaining strong
professional relationships.
