Overview
We are seeking a Senior QA Analyst with strong banking and payments experience to lead testing activities across payment platforms, including PayShap, Rapid Payments Programme (RPP), EFT, real-time payments, and digital banking channels. The role focuses on ensuring the quality, stability, and compliance of payment solutions through functional, integration, API, and automation testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Test payment solutions including PayShap, RPP, EFT, RTC, and digital banking transactions.
- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
- Identify, track, and manage defects through to resolution.
- Support UAT and production releases.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and Payments SMEs.
- Drive test automation and continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- 7+ years' QA/Test Analyst experience.
- 5+ years within Banking or Financial Services.
- Hands-on experience with PayShap, Rapid Payments/RPP, real-time payments, EFT, and payment processing systems.
- Strong API testing and SQL skills.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar testing tools.
- Exposure to automation testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
- Good understanding of payment message flows, reconciliations, and banking regulations.
Preferred
- Experience with ISO 20022 messaging.
- ISTQB Certification.
- Experience working on payment modernisation programmes within a South African banking environment.
