| Key Responsibilities · Design, implement, and maintain HPE NonStop systems to ensure 24/7 availability for critical business operations.
· form system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to optimize NonStop environments.
· Manage NonStop security, patching, and compliance (including Safeguard, SSL/TLS configurations).
· Support database environments (Enscribe) including backups, replication, and recovery.
· Automate routine tasks using TACL, Tandem Command Language (TAL), or other scripting tools.
· Collaborate with development teams to ensure application compatibility and performance on NonStop platforms.
· Implement disaster recovery (DR) and high-availability (HA) solutions (e.g., Expand)
· Work with Networking (TCP/IP, X.25, SS7) and middleware integrations (MQ, Web Services).
· Provide on-call support for critical incidents and participate in root cause analysis (RCA).
Technical Skills Hands-on experience with SCF (System Configuration Facility) for node and cluster management. Familiarity with NSKCOM. Knowledge of Safeguard for NonStop security and access control. Experience with XyGATE Security Server and related auditing/compliance tools. Experience with Prognosis monitoring for NonStop performance and health metrics. Experience with backups, archiving, and recovery strategies (e.g., VTC, AMBER). Familiarity with networking on NonStop systems, including TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, and routing on NonStop. Knowledge of clustered and failover environments, including DR processes and load swing procedures. Strong understanding of security, access control and compliance in NonStop environments. Scripting and automation skills (TACL, BATCH, or other scripting languages). Familiarity with integration with external systems, middleware, and messaging systems (MQ, SOAP/REST endpoints). Understanding of performance tuning and capacity planning for NonStop systems..
Operational Skills Proven ability to provide 24x7 infrastructure support with on-call rotations. Strong experience in incident, problem, and change management. Ability to create, maintain, and follow runbooks and operational procedures. Experience coordinating with application and infrastructure teams for upgrades, patching, and deployments.
Soft Skills · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex system issues. Strong communication skills, able to convey technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and within a team, across multiple shifts or time zones. Proactive attitude toward system improvement, automation, and documentation.
